Infographics - Task 2
WHAT IS AN INFOGRAPHIC?
An infographic (like the one below) is a popular form of content marketing that can help you simplify a complicated subject or turn an otherwise boring subject into a captivating experience. Ideally, an infographic should be visually engaging and contain a subject matter and data that is appealing to your target audience …something that is truly ‘link worthy’ or ‘share worthy’.
Why is Content Marketing so important?
-
Because content marketing is THE most cost effective way of generating compound website growth (year-after-year), as well as being a source of extremely valuable inbound links, social shares, highly qualified leads and a source of new customers. Learn why ‘earning’ links is crucial to your search engine rankings by watching our 4-minute video on the History of SEO.
-
Because the return on investment for content marketing can actually be far better than pay-per-click, …WHEN you look at it over a longer period of time. Business owners think nothing of spending thousands if not tens of thousands of dollars per month on PPC, but often ignore content marketing, simply because they do not recognize the long-term benefits. Check out our 3-year study of how Content Marketing ROI blew away traditional pay-per-click efforts.

Do infographics really help?
This page you are looking at is a perfect example of just how effective a creative infographic can be. Since creating the infographic below and adding it to this page a few years ago, this page has since received over 110,000 unique visitors, over two thousand unsolicited, inbound links (including links from websites such as adobe.com), and thousands of social shares. Content marketing works.

Below you will find the infographic I have created for the subject Ethics. It is about ethical advertisement and it contains the basics of our presentation which we had to give at the same time. If I would have to do it again, I would make sure that it is a bit more concise and to the point, though. Below the ethical advertisement infographic, you will find my resume. I created the ethics presentation with Piktochart and my resume with Canva.

Reflection
I believe that infographics are really useful in a business environment. People are overloaded with information every day, so only the information which strikes you the most, will be saved in your mind. People have a stronger ability to remember visuals, so infographics are really useful. I did like it to produce the infographic, but in a business context you can do way more with it. In the infographic of ethics, we had to make sure that all the information of our presentation was on it. If I would have to make it again, I would try to make it more visualising with figures and numbers.
As for the cv, at first I created a resume on a website of which I cannot even remember the name of. I did not like it at all, because I really did not believe in the strength of infographics as resumes. However, after a while, I figured out that recruiters might actually like the extra effort and might even enjoy a pdf-file in a while. Therefore, I created a new one, using Canva and after changing it over and over again, I am quite happy with the final outcome and I will use it in the future to apply for a job. What I said at the presentation, that I did not want to use it, is not true anymore.
